JumpProof is built to move with you. To keep it working the way it should, a little care goes a long way. Here are the questions we get asked most.

Do I need to rinse my JumpProof before washing?

It’s not required, but it’s a good habit — especially if you’ve had an active day or worn your JumpProof for leak protection.

A quick rinse under cold water straight after wearing helps clear away moisture before it sits. Rinse until the water runs clear, then either wash it straight away or leave it to air dry until you’re ready. Cold water only. Heat is the enemy of leakproof fabric.

Can I machine wash it?

Yes. Gentle cycle, below 30°C, and you’re good. There’s no need for a mesh bag, but if you use one for your delicates already, go ahead. We have JumpProof wash bags available, mostly so you can keep them together in the wash and know they’re safely in the correct cycle. More of a mental load thing!

Resist the urge to crank the temperature up. A hotter wash won’t clean it better — it will just break down the fabric faster and reduce the absorbency over time.

What detergent should I use?

A mild, alcohol-free detergent is your best option. The same kind you’d use for activewear or delicates. Avoid anything with harsh chemicals or strong enzymes — they can damage the leakproof layers.

One thing to skip entirely: fabric softener. It leaves a residue on performance fabrics that coats the absorbent layer and reduces how well it works. It’s a hard no for JumpProof and activewear generally.

Can I tumble dry it?

No. Lay it flat or hang it to dry, away from direct heat or sunlight. Tumble drying, ironing, and dry cleaning are all off the table for the same reason — heat degrades the fabric and the leakproof technology inside it.

Air drying is quick anyway. Most JumpProof styles are dry within a few hours.

What about odour?

The best prevention is a prompt wash. If JumpProof sits damp for too long, odour can develop. Rinsing straight after wear helps a lot.

Can I wash JumpProof with other clothes?

Yes. Sort by colour as you normally would and wash together. The machine cycle rinses thoroughly, so there’s no hygiene issue washing JumpProof alongside other items.

How do I make it last?

Below 30°C wash. Gentle cycle. Air dry. That’s it. Treat it like your best activewear and it will hold up well over time.
